Television producer Ryan Murphy tweeted the above image to his Twitter account as the nail-biting election results slowly come in. The image is a spoof of his hit FX series American Horror Story, and clearly tells us who Mr. Murphy voted for.
In a new original song and video, Fred Goldring, the man who co-produced 2008’s “Yes We Can” with will.i.am delivers a collaborative effort to encourage people to vote, and to vote left. Titled after Obama’s election campaign the track features artists Ne-Yo, Natasha Bedingfield, jazz musician Herbie Hancock, rock trio Delta Rae, and Goo Goo Dolls frontman Johnny Rzeznik. The lyrics consist of words like “dignity” and “equality” while the President’s standing-ovation-inducing DNC speech fades in and out over the background vocals of a harmonious choir. There’s been reports that republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney had a reputation for being quite the prankster and bully in his formative years. Taking this idea, and running with it (very very creatively), Vanity Fair depicts those years in a slideshow imagining eight faux photos from his high school yearbook. The above image has a young and jokingly effeminate Romney limp-wristed and clearly mocking gay classmates. Vanity Fair’s caption reads “Uproarious old Mitt does his best Liberace!”
