The Advocate, French lesbian policewomen, LGBT, child birth leave
Lesbian couple Raphaelle and Fabienne, both French policewomen, pose with one of their three children near Lyon, France. After the birth of their twins in early 2010, Fabienne was denied paternity leave by police department officials. Now she intends to be granted that right by the courts. Today or tomorrow Parliament is expected to consider an amendment to a proposed law to fund the Social Security healthcare system to include changing “paternity leave” to “child birth leave” so the time would be granted regardless of gender.
